WebJun 23, 2012 · 24mm f4 you get in 17 55mm f2.8. Oh God. 24mm @ f/4 on the 17-55 isn't even close to being the same. The 17-55 is at its sharpest at f/8. Primes are sharper than zooms, and the 24 is sharpest at f/4. My nifty fifty is shareper than my 17-55 at the same settings. I do a lot of street photography and landscapes.
